If
you did not make it to the last meeting here’s a quick
re-cap of the MORE Suck it Up 400; 17 racers supported, 2
class wins, a fantastic bbq complete with 2 kegs of beer,
snow on the ground race morning and a whole bunch of FAIR
members performing flawless pit stops all day long! That’s
local racing, and nobody does it better.
Moving forward, our next 2 races are not quite so close to
home.
February 19th and 20th is the SNORE “Battle
at Primm” a 2-day event, Laughlin style. Mark Gonzalez is
almost finished revamping his Ford Ranger and plans to
join Garit Wallace, Art Savedra and Bill Worthing racing
this coming weekend.
February 26th is the SCORE San Felipe 250. Past FAIR Race
Director, Jerry Longo has slid into the Race Manager seat
and put together 5 pits for our racers. We will have a
special pre-meeting, meeting at the Anaheim Park Hotel’s
restaurant this Wednesday February 16th @ 6:00pm. A race
map and Racers Worksheets can be found
here
Extra pit help is still needed for both races, details
will be discussed at Wednesdays meeting.
The
“Dust to Glory” premier in
Santa Barbara
had 2,000 people in attendance, on a weekend with races in
Parker, AZ and Lucerne, CA. Worldwide release is scheduled
for early April 2005.
Plans are in the works for FAIR to host the 2005 Baja 500
Live Starting Position Drawing, the 2003 Baja 1000 drawing
we hosted was big, this will be huge!

One
of the best ways to support our addictions for the desert,
speed and the almighty win is to spend your money with the
vendors / manufacturers that support off road racing. When
you browse around on fairpits.com the names, logos
and pictures you see all come from within our circle of
desert racers. These people have supported the club
generously over the years with their time, product or
donations, often behind the scenes. The next time you have
a need for a product or service, remember the names you
see on fairpits.com, tell them you're a FAIR
member, and keep it in the family.

Email from George Ladwig:
A
group in
Nevada
has devised a way to utilize racing harness shoulder and
lap belts for special education children, and improve
their quality of life, to a small extent. So don't throw
away your out-of-date racing harnesses!
You
can donate them (and receive a charitable tax deduction
receipt) by mailing then to:
Ray and Karen Hampton

Indian Hollow Ave
North
Las Vegas, Nevada 89031.

The
year is off to a strong start – 15 racers for Laughlin,
the first of 31 races FAIR members will be racing this
year. SCORE will be marking off our pit space, so look for
the FAIR signs in the pit area.
The
pit crew competition is this Friday afternoon with a few
FAIR racers entered, first prize is $3,000.00!
The
3 new trailers we ordered are ready, Don Bowler, Frank
Wagner, Johnny Brockway and Jerry Longo have adopted club
trailers, next time you see them be sure to say "Thank
You".
January 22nd @ 9:00am is the next FAIR work
party, Harry Dunne’s place in Apple Valley. This should be
quick and simple, transfer equipment from the old to the
new trailers and check it for the MORE race on the 29th.
January 22nd @ high noon – MORE awards banquet
at Rosita’s – 540 West Main, Barstow $15.00 a person.
Garit Wallace and Bill Markel will be picking up their
awards for class champions and Garit for the overall
points as well!
FAIR
often has a large percentage of racers competing in Jims’
events, great promoter, great food, don’t miss this one.
